Ted & Oana's Halekulani Wedding

Ted & Oana are one of those movie star couples.  Gorgeous both inside and outside, their wedding was nothing short of a showstopper.

The couple tied the knot on September 1st, 2016 at the beautiful Halekulani Hotel on Waikiki Beach.  It was an intimate affair attended by their closest friends and family.  The decor was romantic, and stunningly gorgeous.  Ghost chairs and tall all-white floral centerpieces made the ceremony feel elegant while the inside sparkled with white sequined table cloths and a romantic sweetheart lounge.

The evening was filled with cocktails and amazing food that never stopped coming.  Speeches, cake, and dancing continued on into the night.  It was a fairytale wedding, the perfect wedding day for this beautiful couple.

Congratulations Ted & Oana.  We hope your special day was everything you had imagined it to be and we wish you both a lifetime of LOVE, adventures and blessings!

Cheers to your Best Day Ever!

Christopher & Collen, Turtle Bay Resort, Stables Beach

Sometimes we get to plan weddings for our best friends, and this year, I've been blessed to have had a few of my closest amigos tie the knot.  Christopher Plummer is one of them.  I've known this guy since 4th grade or possibly earlier.  We used to play telephone, the old school, ancient type with a two cups tied to a string, outside our windows.  We played soccer together in high school and have been in each others lives for decades.

I could not have been more thrilled for him when he finally asked his long time girlfriend Colleen to marry him!  We began planning immediately and I helped them coordinate all of the best vendors Hawaii had to offer.  They decided on the gorgeous Turtle Bay as their venue with the ceremony reception right on the ocean.

The day of the wedding was surreal.  Simple, sweet, fun, and a perfect reflection of Chris and Colleen. This is all we ever hope for, as this day is a day that most will remember for the rest of their lives.

Chris & Collen ~ Congratulations!  You two were stunning together, everything about your special day was perfect and we all could feel the love that the two of you share.  It was such an honor to see you both fall in love all over again and I'm so happy for what's to come!

Cheers to your BEST DAY EVER! ~LOVE: Nicole

Mario's Proposal! A Hawaii fairytale engagement

Mario and Giovanna's Hawaii wedding proposal and engagement was a fairytale.  The look on her face when he got down on one knee was something we'll never forget.  We don't do engagements or proposals often, and although we've been asked before, this was the first time we've actually set one up.  We did it mostly for fun, and because Mario was such a sweet guy.  Plus, lets be honest, who doesn't love seeing the beginning of an awesome LOVE story?!  Let me tell you, totally worth it, it was a moment we'll never forget and I'm sure Mario and Giovanna won't either.

The story.  Mario came to us about a month prior asking if we'd help him set up a surprise proposal for his girlfriend who he was flying to Hawaii.  The couple were originally from the same village in Italy (something Mario says is not very common and quite rare).  Mario & Giovanna however, had not actually met in Italy, they met in Switzerland, where they both currently resided.  They had been dating for less than a year and Mario intended to propose on the day that they met, exactly one year ago.   Although they hadn't been dating for very long, he knew she was the one.  And, as I always say ~ when you know, you know!  :)

After flying in, Mario called me and we set up a ~secret~ time to meet.  He set up a nail appointment for Giovanna and told her he was going to get a haircut, when really he was coming to meet up with me to discuss the details of the proposal.  He was so excited about the big day I started getting excited too.  Together we decided we'd do a big flower heart filled with a mix of flowers in the sand with a hundred little tea-light candles mixed in. We went over what song would be playing when he got down on one knee, her favorite "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith, and we went over the timing details.

Erika and I got there early to scope out a spot as Mario & Giovanna dined at the restaurant behind us.  There was a big seal on the beach that evening camping out so the spot we originally had decided upon was taken.  We had to set up pretty much right in front of their dinner table, but figured there were enough people on the beach that she wouldn't even notice us there.  We were right :)  We waited to set up until it was dusk and soon most of the people left.  Mario called us saying "I see you! But she doesn't!".  Everything was working out perfectly.

We laid down nearly a hundred big yellow hibiscus flowers and even more plumeria plus a ton of ferns, all picked fresh that afternoon.  I also made a giant rose and mixed floral bouquet with 2 dozen roses set up in a vase for Giovanna.  Erika put out almost a hundred tea-lights.  We waited to light them until the very last minute so that she wouldn't get suspicious and so that we wouldn't draw too much attention.

And then it was time, after dinner Mario led Giovanna out to the beach and covered her eyes.  When she opened them her favorite song was playing and she was standing in a giant heart in the sand made up of her favorite flowers and a hundreds of candles.  There was a beautiful gigantic bouquet of roses by her side and her boyfriend was about to get down on one knee.  Yup - it was that good!

When Mario got down on one knee, and pulled out the ring, she started crying.  Erika and I were sitting on a towel about 10ft away, capturing the moment on film... and yes, we started crying too.  He slipped the ring onto her finger and then almost instantly she jumped into his arms kissing him for what seemed like an eternity as they looked off into the ocean together.  We played through his entire playlist 2x before they noticed that we were there.  I'm not even sure they knew I was flashing photos, they were so in the moment.

It was a beautiful moment, one we were honored to be a part of, a real-life fairytale!  Congratulations Mario & Giovanna on your engagement!  If you ever end up back in Hawaii surely give us a ring!  We'd be happy to plan your wedding! ~~~~~BEST DAY EVER!~~~~~~~~~~

Shinji is someone who I've known for a long time.  He also happens to be my brother in law, so planning his wedding something extra special and dear to the heart.  Shinji and Marisa decided to do an outdoor wedding at the Volcano Garden Art Center in Volcano, on the Big Island of Hawaii.  It was labor of love, lots of set up, lots of diy, and a mix of ideas, all coming together for one very special day.

Shinji and Marisa, thinking of your wedding day still makes me smile.  It was such a special, intimate, loving moment and I'm so happy that the both of you found your way into each others lives.  I could not imagine a more perfect day and setting for a more amazing couple.  I hope you were able to relax a bit and enjoy every second of your big day because that is how Best Day Ever's should be and you to deserve nothing less.

Michelle & Alvin's Moana Surfrider Wedding

Michelle and Alvin booked us over a year prior to their wedding.  There is something special about being able to see a wedding play out from the very beginning.  Especially when the couple is a joy to work with and has excellent style and grace.  This bride was all of that and more.  After providing Michelle with a few venue options that fit her dream "half- indoor - half-outdoor, elegant and classy" wedding vision, the couple finally decided on Saint Theresa's Church as the ceremony venue and The Moana Surfrider as the reception/dinner venue.  It was the perfect choice.  I was also able to help with a few other vendors along the way and watch as this brides gorgeous dream wedding came to life.  From the gold bridesmaids dresses, to the bright Hawaii-inspired florals and the pineapples, to all the little personal gold glittery touches, this wedding was a nothing short of spectacular.  I would expect nothing less for this sweet couple.  And, to top it off, talk about picture perfect - I have never seen a more jaw-droppingly gorgeous bride, or a more composed, well spoken and suave groom.  The love they shared was so evident and something you don't find or see often.  It was hard not to love everything about this couple and this wedding.  We were so honored to be a part of this special day!  Congratulations to you both, wishing you a lifetime of LOVE, kisses, blessings (and beauiful babies!)

With LOVE & Aloha,
Nicole & Erika
